November News
- On November 1 we had 5 members come out to CHAD CON held at the Lawrenceville Armory in Lawrence Township. It was run by our friend Chad. Science Chief Annie Brugmans, Counselor Emily Vosseller and I handled the recruitment table operations joined by USS Avenger XO Adm. Alex Rosenzweig who provided a nice regional map showing chapters within the area including some chapters in Pa and New York. The location proved very historic and interesting and was a large collectible & comic book show which also featured the 501st Remnant and a nice variety of vendors.
- Two members of the USS Justice also stopped by their CO and XO. We were told the event will return next year, hopefully at the same venue. While not in the immediate area of the Challenger, we were given the table as a thank you for years of support and through my friendship with Chad but it is closest to the USS Avenger and I had opened this up as a NJ sector event something we hope to expand upon with a dinner afterwards and more recruitment table volunteers, next year.
- Our delayed ST 60 Celebration event at the Novins Planetarium located at Ocean County College, Toms River was held on Nov. 7.
- Also planned is an Imax and regular showing of Godzilla Minus Zero with the regular one at the AMC in Brick Township on Oct. 8.
- We may consider a visit to the Jersey Shore Comic Book and Toy Show on Nov. 11 in support of our friend actor Steven Lance. A few of us also expressed interest in seeing the holiday film “Ebeneezer” with Johnny Depp playing the title role as Scrooge. We also plan to see as a group the final insallment of Dune next month and Avengers Doomsday.
- Our holiday Potluck Party is tentatively set for the first weekend in December.
